I thought we were back to life as we know it, but Sam started complaining of ear pain so we headed to the doctor this afternoon...another no school day! Argh. We have been reading James and the Giant Peach, though. That has been so much fun! I love Roald Dahl. He is an amazing author. The kids are spellbound. I love to read books like this!
The house looks good...you all should come see it! And then buy it:) It was a fun week getting everything ready, but I am ready to go back to normal life. The kids did not like being pretty much ignored or put to work for an entire week and I didn't like the results of that either! We were much happier today. The most fun transformation was our "food storage" room is now the school room and the dining room is now.....(fanfare please) a dining room!! :) The kids spend lots of time in the school room doing their art projects and it seems to contain the mess a bit better.
Life is good...I am happy.
PS Hit my 25 pound mark today...YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Change is good:)
Not much to say, but I can't stand that humongous font every time I go to our blog. We are in the process of clearing our house to make it nice and open. I am beginning to really like the feeling. Tomorrow, we start on the last BIG project, Monday afternoon my cleaning fairies come, we get the carpets cleaned, and then we list. :)
I have this feeling that whatever happens, it will be quick. I wonder if this is true. I don't usually have big intuition kinds of things, so I will be interested to see what happens. I really hope it's our house that will sell quickly, not the other one:) I will hate to "unpack" everything that has been put away...maybe I will just leave everything, check back in a year and see if we missed anything . Oh, except all the stuff in JB's garage...I promise I won't leave all that stuff there, Jenn!
I can't sleep, don't want to eat, and feel like I am just waiting on the edge of something. It's a great way to beat the winter blahs!

Big news!
NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT!!!
Why does everyone always think that?? :):) Just kidding.
So, here's the news....we are putting our house on the market, so we can buy a house that is exactly .75 miles from this house. Isn't that fun?
The reason is that I want a basement. That house is very similar to ours but on a huge finished basement with a huge storage room. And it's not just any basement, it's a daylight basement. Lots of big windows.
We won't move unless we can get THIS house. And we won't move until this one is SOLD. Thought I would LOVE to move out and sell this one empty, it didn't seem smart in this economy. Especially just because we WANT to move, we don't NEED to move.
We are working like crazy to fix all the little things that are ugly, but have never bothered us. And some of the bigger problems that we have just lived with. And de-personalizing our home. It's fun to declutter once again! We hope to be show ready by the end of the week.
PS I have not idea why this entry's print is ginormous...

Crisis Averted
A few minutes ago, Seth was in the high chair, happily for quite a long time. He was enjoying some Raisin Bran Crunch...actually, just the raisins. He kept messing with his nose and sticking his finger in it (typical for most of my kids, not for him:). I got a sinking feeling that there might be something up there, and sure enough, there was a little raisin up there.
This has happened before, but this time, it was so far up I wasn't going to be able to get it. I tried to make him blow his nose, but to no avail. So, I began to freak out. I have no desire to go to the ER, especially with 2 kids who were up with the flu all night. I called George, and he Googled it for me to see what I should do:) I was out in the car first aid kit digging for tweezers when George finds the answer.
"Plug the unobstructed nostril, and cover baby's mouth with yours and blow." Sounded pretty gross to me, but it also sounded lots cheaper and less scary for baby than the ER, so I headed inside to enlist kids to help me with this endeavor. Natalie and Levi are running around the house yelling my name (isn't it amazing how unobservant kids are sometimes? I am sure both of them watched me walk into the garage). I was a little worried, and then Natalie said, "I got it out!" She had! She had somehow gotten Seth to blow his nose and out came the raisin. Then, she had found her gloves, put them on, and carefully carried that nasty raisin to the trash. :P
The past 12 hours have been a little TOO eventful for me!
