I have a fabulous MIL!
I received a great blessing yesterday. Linda calls and says, "I will come at one and take the 2 older kids for the afternoon. I will have them back for dinner." Really? Does it get any better than this? How did I get such wonderful in-laws?? So I have all of the babies nap times to get things done. Of course, all I want to do is eat bon-bons and watch the A&E Pride and Prejudice, but I settled with finishing 2 loads of laundry and folding them, rotating clothes and food out of our 72 hour kits (every 6 months at General Conference...thanks for the tip, Beadners!), planned school for the week while watching part of P&P. Ah, life is good! Thank you, Linda!

Mud or Art?
Yesterday, the 3 older kids were outside playing. I was on the computer, but I could see them most of the time and hear them all the time so I wasn't worried. Sam left the group so I went to check on him. I eventually got to Levi and Natalie in the backyard and this is what I saw. From the ground up to about 4 feet, ALL of our cream-colored siding was black with mud. Each slat was either completely "painted" or had little pictures of stick figures drawn all over it. The kids, of course were also covered in mud and there was an 18 inch deep hole near the wall where said siding incident was occurring and I believe ALL of that mud was on the siding. It was funny...kind of. Of course, I made them scrub it all off. *Sigh* I wish I wish I was better at letting them enjoy their childhood...but it's just so darn MESSY!! :)

What a day...
This is a picture of my beautiful little girl. She is supposed to be my angel when compared to the boys. My rose among thorns, right? Well, today I came down from putting the baby to bed and she said, "I dialed 9-15." I didn't think much about it and just asked her not to play with the phone. About 5 minutes later a cop pulls up in my driveway. When he gets to the door, he asks, "Is everything alright in there, ma'am?" as he looks around to my living room which looks as though an atomic bomb had hit it. I stammer something about my 4 year-old and using the phone and apologized profusely...I am sure that he has better things to do then check on prank 911 calls. Natalie was pretty freaked out (which I HOPE was good for her!). Have you read the original Curious George where he calls the fire department while playing with the phone and they come and haul him off to jail? No wonder she was scared:) He was SUPER nice and tried to talk to her about it, but she was pretty upset and eventually he just left. *Sigh*
Later on, I go up to my own bathroom to take care of a surprising feminine need and the door is locked...and there is no one inside. And EVERYTHING is in there. Who would have done that? Ah yes, my little angel. The door locker. I can get every door in our house unlocked, but apparently not this one. *Sigh* It's a good thing I love my Natalie:)

Haircut Lament
And this is after....
I ruined his beautiful baby hair :( I am so sad. But the haircut was SOOOOO bad, it had to be shaved. And it's not even a GOOD shave. There is just no way to cut a 2 year old's hair. I cut it last time and it wasn't so bad. I thought I could do it again. Not so much. He looked in the mirror and said, "Levi!" because he looks like a big boy now. *Sigh* I don't like it when my babies start to grow up. :( Why didn't I just let someone else cut it??

TV Guilt
Does anyone else feel guilty watching TV in the evening (or anytime)? I always feel like I should be making a list, or folding laundry, or reading a self-help book during the commercials. Maybe I should only be listening while I make dinner or mop the kitchen floor. George and I used to watch an unbelievable amount of TV. Within the last couple of years, we have gone down to only 2 shows and I still feel guilty watching them. That being said, I can't wait to sit and watch American Idol tonight! I will fold that last load of laundry while I am watching, though:)

It's early...
I just LOVE being up early in the morning before the kids. It's so refreshing and peaceful. I can look at the the day and say, "Today is the day that I will be a better mom." It also helps to have a girl's night to look forward to tonight :) I can even hear birds chirping...a sign that Spring may come after all! *sigh* I really should do this more often, instead of being cranky that the kids woke me up and now I HAVE to get up to take care of them. Now, I look forward to them getting up and coming down to be with me. Yes, I have decided that this will be a good day!

I did it!
I finally got to watch American Idol in the comfort of a recliner (I saw some previous weeks on the computer:). AND...we actually got to use George's antenna because our digital 55 was "janky" today. Now, if I can just get into it...I will be glad when they get to the top 12. It's always more fun and usually the "janky" contestants are gone by then. Can't wait for more!
PS Can you tell that "janky" is the word of the day. It's a family word meaning...LAME!
