Blogging...

It seems like I think of all kinds of things to blog about until I have time to sit at the computer and now...I've got nothing. But I have time, so there will be something posted anyway. Will it be interesting? Perhaps not. Oh well.

I just finished reading Pride and Prejudice and I have decided that reading books that I really like cannot be a daytime hobby for me. I ignore everything...laundry, cleaning, kids:) and just read and read. Well, you know, the kids can't REALLY be ignored so then I just feel frustrated because I would rather be reading. Does anyone else have this problem? And of course, after finishing the book, I want to watch the movies. Not just one, but the three versions I have in my house right now. I was amazed that the kids lasted as long as they did. Natalie kept asking who the grumpy man was...of course, it was Mr. Darcy:) They liked the dancing parts. I got halfway through the Kiera Knightly version today. The rest will have to wait!

I also spent some time outside today. Have you ever gotten really into a project that, in the end, no one will ever see and it was way too much work? That was me in the backyard today. We have this huge, weed-ridden spot right outside our back door and I decided to clean it out. A ton of work (I didn't even finish it) and I don't know what I will do to keep all the weeds from coming back. I would love to make a beautiful flower garden, but I am sooo bad at growing things. So I may just put some big rocks in there:) You know, pretty rocks!

Oh Anna, I know just how you feel. In fact, when I come home from the library with books, even Mikes says, Oh boy, here we go. I get way too addicted to what I am reading. I'm so terrible I'm looking forward to the day that all my kids are in school some part of the day so I can just READ!

I have that problem with my scriptures when I find the time to read them I get so wrapped up in them that I don't even want to put them down to go to sleep. i haven't read much other than text books and scriptures so I have no idea what it would be like to read a book. We have been working on the ward also and it seems that we have this never ending job...I'm just glad Lee gets to deal with it more than me.

I love reading your blog. I am the same way with books so I just can't let myself get involved during the day...it's too hard to quit.

I think that's pretty much why I don't read. I get too sucked in and then my family falls apart.

I'm so glad you are doing some fun things. You seriously amaze me.

My problem is that I decide I will read at night and then have a hard time waiting until the next night and end up reading during the day. So sorry I have the same issues. Except mine go a little farther. The other day my scriptures which I hadn't read yet that day were sitting on top of my current read and I removed the scriptures and read my book. I'm going to Hades for sure.

Isnt the book so good. I love the 6 hour version the best because it follows the book more. I am working on getting that version. I have the other 2. I was the same way when I read the book. And the other Jane Austen books as well.
