Obsessed?

Has anyone seen "Better Off Dead" where the mom and dad are talking about how Lane is in love with Beth and his mom says, "Obsessed?" and then Lane opens his closet and every hanger has Beth's face on it? Well, I seem to have become a bit obsessed about this Twilight series. Seriously! I don't know how else to describe it. I read it super fast, not doing anything else in the meantime. I let children go wild "just until the end of this chapter." I dreamed about werewolves. And I cannot stop thinking about the books. This is not my usual reaction to things that I read, but I just can't seem to move on. The funny thing is (and it's a bit relieving, actually) is that I am not the only one. There are blogs, websites, people at church, family...everyone! Do other books cause this kind of commotion? There are many books that I LOVE, but I don't feel so emotionally connected to them as I do this teenage fiction. I feel just a bit silly! I want her to be done writing them and I want to have seen all the movies so I can move on with my life. It's really a love-hate relationship. With a book.

Don't worry the obsession wears off in about a month. But I know how you feel. Everything you see or talk about will trigger something you read in the books. I think my mom was tired of hearing me say "you need to finish the books so I can talk about it." Still waiting for the last to come out but I think that will be a bitter sweet feeling. I want to finish the story but yet I still want it to go on.

I felt the same way with Harry Potter this last time I reread them. I had dreams too and did nothing until I was done. But you already new that. The bad thing is about our blogs is that I talk to you everyday so you already know everything I blog about or I have commented on what you told me then I read it on your blog. Sorry.

My sister really loves the Twilight series and keeps recommending that I read them. One of these days...

I don't know how anyone reads these without becoming obsessed. Somehow they feel like a guilty pleasure and they transport you back to high school. How does she do this? I have concluded that she's just a fantastic story teller. It will wear off, but I say, enjoy the ride. It's fun to feel 16 again! (Did I really just write that? Man, I'm gettin old!)
